I've Seen Everything
...over the moon and under the influence...
Here is the Trashcan Sinatras' second album I've Seen Everything, in 12 inch vinyl LP form. The album is prominently displayed with TCS guitarist John Douglas's art work, and even includes a special print (see below).
The album featured the singles "Hayfever", "I've Seen Everything" and "Bloodrush", and was released on May 4th, 1993. |
Pictured below is the Canadian version of the I've Seen Everything cassette tape LP. While the cassette case is virtually identical to the UK version (see directly above), the tape itself looks quite different.
The promotional / not for sale version of I've Seen Everything is shown below. Packaged in a non-descript generic black and white package, the song listing is the same for the regular album. Unlike the official releases of the cassette album, the promo tape reflects sides A and B instead of 1 and 2.

The CD of I've Seen Everything was released in both the US and UK. The two versions are shown at right and below. The UK version, the bottom-most CD shown in both photos, has a darker, less faded color scheme to the cover painting (by TCS guitarist John Douglas)--at least this is true for the copies that I have.
The US release and the UK release also differ in the design of the CD label--in the US, the band name and the album title are centered across the top with the song list below, but the UK version has the song list on the left side of the CD, with a "man on the moon" profile shown on the right side (see below). |
Various photos from pages with the CD booklet:
A rare mini-album CD containing 6 of the 14 tracks from the I've Seen Everything album. The front cover artwork is the same as on the regular album, although the name of the band is not displayed; just the album name.
In a clever display of cheekiness, displayed on the back cover of the CD sleeve are several anagrams of "The Trashcan Sinatras", each more absurd than the one before it. "Anarchist has ten rats", indeed. |
One of the singles from I've Seen Everything is the terrific song "Hayfever". Here is the vinyl 12 inch single that also contains "Say", "Kangaroo Court" and "Skin Diving".
This single contains more of John Douglas's colorful and evocative artwork. As with the vinyl LP album version of "I've Seen Everything", this recording also comes with a special print of John's paintings. |
This 12" single of "Hayfever" is very similar to the officially released version directly above (including the other three songs), except this one is a promo copy given to disc jockeys for air play and not intended for public sale. The record comes in a plain nondescript black sleeve and, with the exception of the Go-Discs logo, the record's center label has virtually no artwork and has plain black and white lettering.
The "Hayfever" single, this time as a standard 7" single, with just "Say" included as the B-side. Same artwork as the other "Hayfever" single versions (above), although there is no art print.
The record includes a postcard that the buyer can fill out (addressed to "I Hate Music") and send in the post if they want to receive more information about the Trash Can Sinatras (as they were called then) or other Go Discs artists.

No real difference here between this promotional CD single version of "Hayfever" and the standard UK version above, except that this version has "promo only not for sale" on the CD label, and come in a digipak cardboard packaging format.
Another version of the CD single "Hayfever", this time from Germany. The main difference here is that the CD is in a standard jewel box format, with front and back covers that can be slid in and out of the case (pictured). The disc also has mention of German origin; otherwise, the disc and the cover artwork are pretty much identical to the other versions.

A very rare item that pops up on places like eBay once in a very long while. "Bloodrush" is a single from the I've Seen Everything album that never got a proper mass-market release; it only saw the light of day as a 1-song CD promotional single in the US and in very limited quantities. Another fine example of John Douglas' bold artwork graces both the front and back cover of the CD sleeve, as well as on the disc label.

The 12" vinyl version of the single "I've Seen Everything", the title track of the Trashcan Sinatras' second album is shown below. There are three other songs included: "I'm the One Who Fainted", "Houseproud" and "Ask Davy". As with the other records from the I've Seen Everything album, more John Douglas artwork is prominently displayed throughout.
Similar to the "Hayfever" disc jockey promotional 12" vinyl single above, this DJ single is for the "I've Seen Everything" single form the album of the same name. As with that previous promo disc, this one too is housed in a plain black sleeve and has a simple label without a lot of graphical bells and whistles. The same four songs are present as with the regular 12" single release (directly above).
Also similar to the "Hayfever" DJ disc, the sides are identified as 1 and 2 instead of A and B as it is with the standard release of the single.

This is the CD single version of the "I've Seen Everything" single, but this time it's back to the same 4 song format as with the 12" vinyl single (i.e. "Ask Davy" is back).
This CD single has virtually the same artwork as with the other formats for this single, but the inside of the digipak has displayed a magnified version of the front cover. |
This blue box was a promotional item that was given out with the purchase of the single "Hayfever" from the album I've Seen Everything. It was meant to carry 1) the album I've Seen Everything, 2) the single "Hayfever", 3) the single "I've Seen Everything", and at least one more disc, either 4) the single "Bloodrush", and/or 5), the compilation TCS album Chewing on a Brick. All five of these discs were to carry a portion of an anchor design on their respective spines, so that the whole anchor would piece together when the discs were stacked just right. However, all five seem too large to fit into the box, plus the anchor design doesn't piece together perfectly when all five are lined up. Adding to the problem are the fact that "Bloodrush" was released only in the US and as a promo cd in very limited supply, and doesn't have an anchor design piece on its spine. Lastly, the Chewing on a Brick CD *has* an anchor design piece, but is housed in a jewel box and not in digi-pack cardboard like the other potential discs for this box. The complete list of intended discs for this box remains a bit of a mystery.
